The Elder Justice Act has a direct and important nexus to health care reform; it provides a critical safety net for abused seniors, many of whom are in failing health and cannot protect themselves from harm. We as a society have a duty to protect our most vulnerable population, who deserve to age with dignity and not die at the hands of their desperate perpetrators. The Elder Abuse Act ensures support systems are able to respond immediately and appropriately to the needs of seniors who are abused or neglected and works with law enforcement to prosecute those who commit these henious crimes. I support the Elder Justice Act and Health Care Reform and urge your support as well.

The AR Advocates for Nusing Home Residents deal with abuse on our weakest and most needy citizens on a daily basis. There have been three GAO reports released in the last nine months documenting the failures in our U.S. regulatory system in protecting nursing home residents. There are over fourty GAO reports (going back thirty years) documenting the fact that abuse and neglect is rampant. PLEASE pass the Elder Justice ACT now. Only you have the power to help our beloved elders.
    Sincerly.

There is no elder justice if you work for a non profit church. You are fired, your insurance is terminated (even if you’re a cancer patient), you are not allowed to see your retirement statement…..and you’re not protected by the Dept. of Labor, Dept. of Insurance. You’re on your own. Get the word out. Even the church run schools don’t have to abide my state standards. No one is safe. They even cover up child abuse!
